Miscarriage is defined as the loss of a baby within the first 24 weeks of pregnancy. It often begins with vaginal bleeding and abdominal cramps. When a woman experiences three or more losses, then it is termed recurrent miscarriage or recurrent pregnancy loss and at that point medical investigations are undertaken.

Uterine fibroids are benign tumour growths, made up of smooth muscle tissue, that are found in approximately 70% of Caucasian women and 80% of African-American women by the age of 40.

Yoga has been a part of my life since before I was born. But never did I have to draw on the calm and strength that it provides as much as during my two-and-a-half year journey of trying to get pregnant.

Endometriosis is a troubling reproductive condition where the primary complaint is pain. For some women, the pain can be almost unbearable, and can profoundly affect their efforts to lead a healthy and normal life. In a woman who does not have endometriosis, the endometrium lines the inside of the uterus and is expelled during each menstrual period. ...

by Judith Fiore, ND It is estimated that male factor problems account for roughly 40% of all fertility cases, including situations where there is a combination of male and female infertility. Bring it off the mat and into your life...I first began teaching Fertility Yoga classes because I so desperately needed yoga myself. I was on an emotional roller coaster, feeling anxious, confused and spiralling out of control. I needed to find a way to calm my mind and relax my body so that I could conceive. Little did I know that my Fertility Yoga practice would improve every area of my life, not just my reproductive health.

Yoga and meditation can help women experiencing the challenges of infertility. The practice of meditation and relaxation can help increase the clarity of the mind, maintain healthy body chemistry, and give patients the patience to undergo the rigors of infertility treatments...
Yoga originated in India more than 5000 years ago. The word yoga means “union” or connection of the mind and body. The practice of yoga, which involves breathing techniques and special poses, is designed to create physical, emotional, mental and spiritual balance. Although yoga is an ancient practice, modern science is discovering its power to reduce stress and increase well being.
Hypnosis for fertility is becoming more and more popular, with thousands of women in the United States and Canada using a treatment called HypnoFertility. Their success stories are glowing enough to make the hardest skeptics smile. More and more women believe that hypnosis increased their chances of conception leading to term, and some preliminary research seems to support this belief: in a 2006 study of 195 patients undergoing IVF, 28% achieved clinical pregnancy with hypnosis at the time of embryo transfer, compared to only 14% without.
Perhaps you dream of cuddling with your own little bundle, smelling that sweet scent of fresh baby, seeing an adorable little face. Maybe you already sense that “there is a baby there,” which is something women have said to me at my Ottawa and Montreal area hypnosis offices. As a Board Certified Consulting Hypnotist, I take a success-oriented approach to infertility, following a program created by Lynsi Eastburn that supports the fertility process, whether natural or medically assisted.
In recent years acupuncture has been increasingly used as an alternative and complementary treatment to Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART)
Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Miscarriage is defined as the loss of a baby within the first 24 weeks of pregnancy. It often begins with vaginal bleeding and abdominal cramps. Obesity is defined as the condition of having a body mass index (BMI) of over 30. BMI assesses weight in relation to height, and is used as a basic indicator to determine if a person is underweight, normal weight, overweight or obese. There are exceptions; for example, if a person has a muscular build, they could have a higher BMI, putting them in the overweight category when they are actually in top physical condition. Although research has shown that women who are overweight are more prone to fertility problems than normal weight women, the group that fares the worst among both women and men is in the obese BMI range.
Nutrition and Miscarriage For many couples who have experienced a miscarriage, becoming pregnant can bring on the worry that miscarriage could happen again. For those who have endured recurrent miscarriages, pregnancy is a time of fear and trepidation, and any slight twinge can induce an emotional rollercoaster.
It is estimated that in about one-third of infertility cases, it is the man who is responsible; in one-third, both the male and female are responsible; and in one-third, it is the female who is responsible. Therefore you can say overall that in half of all couples with fertility issues, male factor problems are the reason a couple is unable to achieve pregnancy.
